Premiere of the musical performance for babies “A-Ū!”
Musical performance for babies “A-Ū!” – is an experiential journey in the theatre for the very youngest audience members (6-24 months). The performance invites parents and their little ones to immerse themselves in the gentle atmosphere of the forest: meet the fox, the bird, the hedgehog and the mysterious jonvabalus, hear their songs and experience the difference between day and night.
The performance is designed to develop all of the baby’s senses – hearing, sight, touch – to stimulate the expression of emotions, to strengthen the bond between parents and children and to foster the first relationship with theatre. It is a safe, comfortable and aesthetic first introduction to the performing arts.
The music is composed by Gytis Šimelionis, as well as live performances of classical music pieces – Edvard Grieg’s Morning and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
“Early artistic experiences, participation in cultural activities with the family, the quality of the artistic events experienced, and the attendance skills developed in childhood continue into adulthood and become the driving force for adult engagement in the field of arts and culture” (Elsley and McMellon 2010: 19-20).
