A ticket is a must for both children and parents.
In Klaipėda Youth Theatre’s performance for the whole family “The Story of One Yard” you will meet the mysterious, inventive and, of course, funny characters – the Kiemūns. First time you’ve heard of them? Of course! After all, the race of the Kiemūnai is secret, and we cannot see, feel or hear them in the life that goes on outside the theatre walls. So who are the Yard Animals?
The Yard Encyclopaedia says:
Yard Animals are the invisible inhabitants of children’s playgrounds, with one goal: to give the child playing in the backyard the best possible experience. Yards are common all over the world, and are usually found in yards of all types and sizes if there are children living nearby.
Do you still feel that you have not come into contact with the Kiemūns? Then, at least for a moment, remember what is happening in the backyard: children get out of the way faster than their fear allows, fall safely from higher heights than logic allows, and when they get bored with one game, they immediately invent another. For these courtyard favours, we should thank the Yardmen! It is only thanks to the invisible guardians of the Yard that the child safely, bravely and with enough dirt survives all the adventures of the Yard and learns to get to know the other visitors of the Yard.
The play “The Story of a Yard” gives the opportunity to see the mysterious and playful world of the Yarders for the first time with your own eyes, and it makes you wonder: is it worth going out and visiting the Yard more often?
