Masters of experimental sound Vytautas Labutis and Donatas Bielkauskas invite you on a sonic journey of industrial romanticism, where seemingly incompatible worlds – different creative practices and individual ways of approaching things – merge. Both artists explore the interaction between man and the environment in their own way, and their musical dialogue is not short of surprises. Although both artists are active in improvised music, their roots lie in different stylistic poles. This is the first stage meeting in the context of a joint performance, despite previous encounters in other projects.
The concert will feature experimental acoustic instrument sounds, field recordings from industrial spaces, and self-made instruments. All of this will merge into a seamless sonic narrative – an adventure that the performers will invite the audience to dive into together. This is not only a concert, but also an experience that invites you to go deeper, hear and rethink the world of sound.

Vytautas Labutis is one of the most prominent personalities of the Lithuanian jazz scene: a multi-instrumentalist, improviser, composer and pedagogue. His musical language encompasses free improvisation and fixed structures, chamber performances and large ensembles. Active on the Lithuanian and international scene since 1982, Labutis collaborates with academic musicians, participates in interdisciplinary performances, and composes for theatre and film.

Donatas Bielkauskas is a composer whose music bravely balances between experimental electronics, ambient soundscapes and acoustic explorations. His work blends technology, natural ambient sounds, industrial noises and unexpected, locally discovered objects. Donatas’ work is distinguished by its conceptualism, sonic diversity and craftsmanship.
