Grupė 2 – Karolis ir Donatas, well-known in the Lithuanian music scene, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. “Over the last ten years, the group’s circle of fans and friends has expanded to such an extent that it’s time to invite everyone to the big arenas to celebrate music and life together.” – say the band members.

“Time is the only thing that passes very quickly,” says Donatas Balvočius, who returned to the group a couple of years ago after a break.

“Sometimes you have to stop thinking about the bad, you have to remember the good, but it all adds up – all events are not subject to time, but as time passes, you just have to observe what happens in life. These moments are very important,” he adds.

A few years ago, the group was shocked by unexpected news – the loss of their stage colleague, D. Čižauskas. Shortly afterwards, the band member D. Balvočius returned to the stage. Donatas says that the events kind of ushered him into a new phase:

“We shut ourselves in the recording studio, turned on the speakers and microphones and just did all the songs we had to do in the arena. I noticed how genuinely my stage partner Karolis was listening to me, which was the most impressive and reassuring thing for me – the band will be fine. Our sincere commitment to continue the band together was soon felt by the whole audience. It was the beginning of a new phase,” recalls Donatas.

Talking about the best of times, Karolis emphasises not only his time on stage, but also his family’s contribution to who he is today:

“If it weren’t for my family, maybe I wouldn’t be such a strong person, not only in this world, but also on stage. Just like in a family, on stage you have to feel a great responsibility and the best time is after the concerts, when the fans come up and are happy that we’re the only ones who come up to them and hug them. And this is true whether it is a restaurant or an arena”, says Akulavičius about the strong connection with his fans.

Grupė 2 – Karolis and Donatas – well-known performers and songwriters Karolis Akulavičius and Donatas Balvočius share a happy news – they will invite their fans and friends to three arenas – Klaipėda’s Švyturys, Šiauliai’s Švyturys, and Kaunas Žalgiris arenas – in December this year.

“For the Time”, “It’s Hard to Be Apart”, “1000 Years”, “Memories”, “Every Evening”, “You Sit Next to Me”, “Well, How Are You Now?”, “From My Heart”, “How Much…”, “I Don’t Matter”, “A Nightingale’s Dream”, “Are You Willing to Love?” – This is by no means the full list of time-tested songs that listeners love. Songs that make you want to hum, dance and sing along.

“Last year we did a tour in Lithuania – all the tickets were sold out, 20 thousand people attended the concerts, so we realised that the fans simply won’t fit in the small spaces”, – the band members share.

“We come to celebrate time together, music, life. We are really preparing for it, it’s going to be unreal. We believe in what we are doing, we want to celebrate unforgettably”, says Akulavičius.

“The thing I look forward to the most at concerts is the whole of the Samogitian choir“, D. Balvočius jokes. “To all our fans and friends, we invite you to sing and celebrate together”.
