Klaipėda hosts the first choir gathering of former political prisoners and exiles from the Samogitia region, “Our Amber Songs”. The aim of the event is to preserve the memory of the historical struggles for the freedom of Lithuania, to foster love for the Motherland and patriotic feelings in the sounds of hymns and songs.

Participants will include:
● Gargždai Culture Centre choir of former political prisoners and exiles “ATMINTIES AIDAI” (director Kristina Katauskienė)
● Kretinga Culture Centre seniors mixed choir “POLĖKIS” (director Ramūnas Baršauskas)
● Šilutė Culture and Entertainment Centre choir of political prisoners mixed choir of political prisoners and exiles “PAMARIO AIDAS” (director Nijolė Sniečkuvienė)
● Mixed choir of Tauragė Culture Centre “TREMTINYS” (director Romualdas Eičas)
● Choir of ex-political prisoners and exiles of Klaipeda city “ATMINTIES GAIDA” (director Vytautas Saikauskas)
