Presentation of a comic book about the artist Pranas Domšaitis at the Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library

Wednesday 19 February at 17.30 “More than the Eyes Can See: A Comic about Pranas Domšaitis and Art Currents” by Miglė Anušauskaitė will be presented at the Klaipėda County Ievos Simonaitytė Public Library (H. Manto g. 25, Klaipėda).
“The comic book with Miglė Anušauskaitė’s drawings “More than the eyes can see: a comic about Pranas Domšaitis and art currents” is an inclusive, playful publishing idea. The impetus for its realisation was the fact that Pranas Domšaitis, a famous and promising artist, is still not well known to many today. His work, which essentially represents three countries – Lithuania, Germany and South Africa – is characterised by the fusion and representativeness of different cultures. The artist’s richest collection of works, stored and exhibited in Klaipėda at the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery of the National Museum of Art in Lithuania, is undoubtedly exceptional in its exoticism and uniqueness in the Lithuanian context”, – Skaistė Marčienė, Director of the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery of the National Museum of Natural History of Lithuania.
