On this occasion, ARTYN Theatre invites lovers of art and culture who are close to the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionas, as well as those who are still trying to get to know him better, to dive into an extraordinary adventure – we will travel through the mysteries of the paintings and music of the most famous artist of our nation, M.K. Čiurlionas, and we will try to unravel them with the help of theatre and dance.

Participants who have purchased tickets for this workshop will be guided by the director Marta Vendland and will analyse the masterpieces of M.K. Čiurlionas’ paintings selected especially for this workshop, and will create small-scale theatrical etudes based on them. They will develop the participants’ creativity, physicality and linguistic expression, opening up the extraordinary layers of Čiurlionas’ paintings, where infinite worlds are captured by the brush. We will visit them and try to get to know them through the art of theatre.

Also, together with choreographer Gintare Šeduikyte, listening to musical compositions by M.K. Čiurlionis selected especially for this workshop, the participants of the artistic education will go on a journey of discovery of their own body and movement, through dance and movement improvisation. During the dance classes we will relax and let the magical music of M.K. Čiurlionas immerse us in the mystical world of the sounds of genius, where we will surely discover ourselves.

Let us celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Genius of the Nation together, creating in his works: paintings and music. Let’s discover M.K. Čiurlionis in the theatre and get to know him as close as we have probably never been able to do before: by becoming his paintings and his music ourselves.

Who is this education for?
The education is open to anyone aged 16+ with a ticket. Theatre and dance experience is not necessary, and everyone is welcome who wants to see Čiurlionas’s work in a different way, but also to discover themselves in it.

Danės str. 8, Klaipėda. The territory of Klaipėdos energija AB. Entrance through a movable roadblock in front of the bright blue “Gulbe” building. The organisers will be waiting for you at the raised barrier to check your tickets and help you find the venue if you have any difficulties finding it.

– When coming to the artistic education “Čiurlionis in the Theatre – Theatre and Dance Workshop” please bring comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and footwear (there will be an opportunity to change clothes), and water.
– Please be informed that the education will be filmed and photographed.
– The education will be divided into two parts:
theatre workshop 1h. The theatre workshop will be 1 hour and the dance workshop 1 hour. 30 min.
– Late arrivals will not be admitted to the education!
