Workshop “Under the Fern Ring” with photographer Audronis Zemgulis
Saturday 27 June, 13.00 va. “Under the Fern Ring” workshop with photographer Audronis Zemgulis (Takas Kopose) will take place in the Art Courtyard of the Klaipėda Centre for Cultural Communications (KCCC) on June 27, 27-30, 2015, at noon (10, Daržų g. 10), where we will be a part of the old photography of the 19th century.
Summer reaches its maturity at the end of June. The meadows smell of herbs, the evenings are reluctant to give way to night, the mystery of Midsummer is still in the air. It is said that the fern blossom blooms only on the shortest night of the year and opens only to those who know how to look. During the photo workshop, we will not be looking for the magic blossom, but for the light hidden in the human face, gaze and silence.
We will be using one of the oldest wet collodion techniques in the world: creating portraits where summer light, the beauty of wild grasses and the slow birth of photography on glass meet. It will be a time to pause under the fast-passing summer sky, to listen to nature and become part of the magic of old photography.
