Dance company and electric bus business starts collaborating to support culture in the pandemic
Šeiko Dance Company based in Klaipėda, Lithuania invites to watch a live broadcast of the video talk “Dance to the Future” that will take place on their Facebook April 16, 7:30 p.m. In the video scientists, artists, thinkers and dancers will explore the visions of the future of Klaipėda seaport in today’s world pandemic context. Video is dedicated to the release of new electric buses “Dancer” in Klaipėda. Questions raised in the video will be relevant to any city in the world. What will we make of our city when we return to it? Will we be more conscious, communal and live in a more sustainable way?
“Dance to the Future” represents a collaboration between art and business – Šeiko Dance Company and newly created modern electric buses “Dancer” – both founded and based in Klaipėda city. Businesses, cultural institutions and other organizations affected by the pandemic are increasingly aware of the importance of local initiatives and cooperation therefore implementing these ideas right now is crucial for culture to survive.
The Šeiko Dance Company works in the contemporary dance field creating dance and music performances, immersive theater, site-specific performances, promenade performances, dance education projects and theater laboratories. Having started their work in Klaipėda in 2012, this award-winning company has expanded its’ borders and tours the world.
Dancer is an electric transport solution that includes e-buses, full maintenance, and its own green energy supply. Nature-friendly electric bus Dancer is made in Klaipėda, Lithuania with significant use of recycled materials, is ultra light and entirely powered by the green energy.

“Dance to the Future” presents the future trajectories of Klaipeda in a global context: Klaipėda University sociologists, economists, philosophers and artists-futurists share their knowledge and predictions in the face of the unknown future after the pandemic. These stories will be complemented by improvisations by performers of Šeiko Dance Company in picturesque seaside locations and in a city emptied of quarantine. Filming was performed in compliance with all quarantine requirements and necessary security measures.
