Tiny Art islands – Sculptural Benches on Mažvydas Avenue

Mažvydas avenue in Klaipėda is not only a green artery of the city but also an artistic experience under the open sky. Following the 2008 reconstruction led by architect V. Paulionis, the alley was reborn: modern lighting, clinker and granite paving and unique rest oases – sculptural benches adorn it.

The granite benches decorated with various sculptural compositions invite you to stop, sit down and dream away. Each of them has its own character, starting with the playful Cat or Chess up to the poetic Dream or the philosophical Reconciliation.

The works of art dedicated to the city serve not only a decorative function, but they also inspire, awaken the imagination and create a connection between an individual and the environment. Be sure to visit this unique space and discover all the creations that found accommodation there: The Book of the Alley, The Bronze Girl, The Microchip of Life, To the Sea, The Cat, The Klaipėda Citizen, The Noughts and Crosses, Mars, The Key to the World of Art, The Sundial, The Chest, Reconciliation, Dream, Chess, The Leap and The Spring.

These tiny art islands create an open gallery under the sky for everyone at any time of the day.
