“Arka” – a monument to a united Lithuania

I-VII 24/7

The “Ark” monument was erected in Klaipėda in 2003. The monument weighs 150 tonnes and is 8.5 metres high. The small red granite column symbolises Lithuania Minor and its cultural heritage, while the grey column symbolises Lithuania Major. The upper part of the monument, which appears to have been removed, depicts the Kaliningrad region, now part of Russia. The words of Ieva Simonaitytė “We are one nation, one land, one Lithuania” are engraved on the monument.
