Dance and sound performance-tour through the sites of 7 old Klaipėda churches raises a question – who are we when we forget and who do we become when we remember? This is a new, unexpected experience of the city, during which you will learn where the first churches stood in Klaipėda, how did they look like, what kind of people lived in Market Street and what have they thought.
During the performance-tour, each participant hears historic/artistic text, music and sound compositions through headphones, watches interpretations of contemporary dance in different city spaces, sometimes the participant performs certain movements himself and that enables him to live stories of the churches personally and expand his own limits of the understanding of the city.
For this tour the director, author of idea and choreography Agnija Šeiko was nominated for Klaipėda’s theater award “The Thanksgiving Mask” and won Borisas Dauguvietis’s earring for interdisciplinary work that connects contemporary dance with various art forms and cultural heritage.
