A monument dedicated to one of the northern Curonian Spit planters, Ludwig Hagen, was built on the Hagen’s Dune during the interwar period. In the 19th century, he wrote, tested and developed the technique of forming seashore cliff.
On the modest Obelisk using German and Lithuanian languages was written: “In memoriam of Ludwig Hagen”.
Hagen Mountain is a 36.5-meter high dune of sand, located next to Klaipėda, Smiltynė, about 0.6 km to the west from the new ferry. During the interwar period, there was built a monument dedicated to the famous Prussian physicist and hydrogeologist, Curonian Spit planter Ludwig Hagen.
