Is a unique technical heritage object with historic value. The hand-operated metal bridge over the castle site moat was built in 1855. It is the only mechanism of this kind in Lithuania. The bridge was constructed from riveted iron and decorated with chains, and was known as the Chain Bridge (Germ. Kettenbrücke) until World War II. The rotation mechanism of the bridge is operated manually. Two people rotate the bridge to open the entrance for ships to the former moat (defensive ditch) of Klaipėda Castle. The bridge is marked with a maritime heritage sign, which is used to identify such maritime heritage objects as various structures and locations of former structures, quays, walkways, ships, etc. In 2010, the Black Ghost, a 2.4-meter high bronze sculpture created by Caspar Hennenberg based on the Black Man from Memel legend from the late 16th century, was solemnly unveiled next to the bridge.
Address: Between buildings 20 and 22 on Žvejų g., Klaipėda
