In 2014 January, the newly organized Resistance Movement and Deportation Exposition opened in the basement of the former residence of the Soviet Committee for State Security (KGB) in Klaipėda (now Klaipėda Territorial Customs Office) thanks to the cooperation of Klaipėda Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees, the History Museum of Lithuania Minor, and Klaipeda Territorial Customs Office.
It is known that 8 268 people were imprisoned in the cells of this building from 1945 to 1954. Visitors are invited to three rooms in which they are acquainted with the partisan resistance of 1945-1954 in western Lithuania, the repressive structures that fought against the armed Lithuanian resistance, and the history of political prisoners and deportees of Klaipėda region. Visitors have an opportunity to witness two authentic cells where prisoners were held. Photographs, documents, letters, and belongings are exhibited here. Furthermore, videos of living eyewitnesses of the events being interviewed are also part of the exhibition. Additionally, a room of an interrogator office has been restored.
