This evening brings together five prominent Lithuanian jazz and popular music artists – Girmant\u0117 Vaitkut\u0117 (vocals), Andrej Polevikov (piano), Mindaugas Vadoklis (trumpet, flugelhorn), Denis Mura\u0161ov (bass, double bass) and Darius Rudis (drums). Their collaboration combines folk melodies and contemporary jazz aesthetics to create a new, organic musical narrative. The programme will feature works from Andrejs and Girmant\u0117’s previous projects and the new album “Miegan\u010dio miesto lop\u0161in\u0117s”. <\/p>\n
Alongside Lithuanian folk songs, traditional melodies from other cultures are presented in modern arrangements, where improvisation, harmonic explorations and the subtle rhythm of jazz become a natural continuation of folklore. The members of the ensemble – well-known performers on the Lithuanian music scene – are characterised by their mature interpretation and a very strong inter-musical communication, which allows them to reinterpret folk material in a new way, while retaining its melodic and stylistic identity. <\/p>\n
