July 16, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. <\/b><\/strong> The Immanuel Kant Public Library of the Klaip\u0117da City Municipality invites you to a virtual reality experience \u201cVR\u2019Kantu: Klaip\u0117da\u2019s History from a Different Angle\u201d<\/b><\/strong> which will take place At the interactive summer reading room on Karlskrona Square, near the Dan\u0117 River embankment. For the first time, v <\/b><\/strong>An innovative creative cultural project will be presented to the public, inviting people not only to learn about the city\u2019s history but also to become a part of it.<\/p>\n

Virtual reality technology allows us to view the city\u2019s past from a different perspective\u2014the historical narrative is complemented by Immanuel Kant\u2019s philosophical ideas on human responsibility, independent thought, and the importance of peace.<\/p>\n

During the premiere, visitors will meet the project\u2019s creators and have the exclusive opportunity to be the first to experience a 20-minute virtual reality journey through the history of Klaip\u0117da.<\/p>\n

A project in the works for 1.5 years\u2014a gift to Klaip\u0117da<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cVR\u2019Kantu: The History of Klaip\u0117da from a Different Perspective\u201d is the result of a digitization project carried out by the Immanuel Kant Public Library of the Klaip\u0117da City Municipality, which lasted nearly 1.5 years.<\/p>\n

Developed in collaboration with historians, tour guides, cultural heritage specialists, and education experts, this innovative audiovisual virtual reality experience offers a fresh perspective on the history, architecture, and cultural heritage of the city of Klaip\u0117da.<\/p>\n

The project aims not only to preserve historical memory but also to bring it up to date using modern technologies, so that the city\u2019s history is engaging, understandable, and easily accessible to a wide range of audiences.<\/p>\n

A story you can experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

This virtual reality experience takes you on a 20-minute journey through the history of Klaip\u0117da\u2014from the early origins of the castle site to the city\u2019s modern skyline. Through 10 historical sites, the experience reveals the city\u2019s architecture, daily life, cultural memory, and philosophical reflections inspired by Immanuel Kant\u2019s ideas on reason, morality, and the importance of peace. <\/p>\n

This is not a traditional narrative, but an experiential journey in which history comes to life through images, sounds, and emotions. The viewer becomes an active participant in the story and experiences the city\u2019s transformations\u2014from a commercial boom to war and rebirth. <\/p>\n

Kant and Klaip\u0117da\u2014a historical connection that gives the project special significance.<\/p>\n

This engaging and educational VR experience is designed for a wide audience\u2014students, teachers, researchers, city residents, and visitors. It is available in Lithuanian, English, and German, and the content is adapted for people with visual or hearing impairments to ensure the widest possible access to cultural heritage. <\/p>\n

The film has been posted and is freely available on the Lithuanian Information System portal https:\/\/www.ekultura.lt\/<\/u><\/a> . The creation of the VR film was funded by the European Union\u2019s (NextGenerationEU) economic recovery and resilience plan \u201cNew Generation Lithuania\u201d and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania. <\/p>\n
