The Ukrainian band Ocheretyany Kit (The Reed Cat) is visiting Klaip\u0117da, Lithuania, for the first time since 2022. <\/p>\n
A charity and appreciation concert by the band will take place on July 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the KKKC Exhibition Hall (1 Auk\u0161toji St.). <\/p>\n
Today, the lives of band members Mykolas and Roman are not just about music and concerts.<\/p>\n
Mykolai Doliak lives in the small town of Olevsk in northern Ukraine and works as a teacher at the village school in Radovel. His family lives in Vinnytsia and, for now, cannot move to be with him. This is one of the many hardships caused by the war\u2014living apart, waiting, and the daily uncertainty. <\/p>\n
The other member of the duo, Roman Kril, is taking on all sorts of jobs now that there are fewer concerts. He\u2019s currently helping out with gardening and farm work\u2014there\u2019s a severe shortage of working men in Ukraine: some are fighting, while others have left. Roman is happy to be with his family\u2014together with his wife Katerina, he is raising their daughter in the picturesque village of Demidivka. <\/p>\n
Mykolas and Roman are not just figures in a war story. They are fathers, husbands, teachers, friends, and musicians. They are people who love their country and strive to help it in every way they can. <\/p>\n
They are in Lithuania now. They are traveling with music and gratitude, meeting people in a country that supports Ukraine and understands its struggle. And we are delighted to welcome our old friends once again. <\/p>\n
