The KADS Baroti Art Gallery is opening a solo exhibition by artist Tomas Jasiulis titled \u201cThe Silence of Form.\u201d The exhibition functions as a radical sensory laboratory, offering viewers a conceptual escape from the traditional\u201crules of art<\/i>.\u201d <\/p>\n
In the contemporary art scene, dominated by strident social narratives and visual noise, T. Jasiulis opts for a complete silencing of form. The monochromatic reliefs on display in the exhibition illustrate nothing and encode nothing beyond their own material edges. In this way, the artist creates a cognitive pause that frees the viewer\u2019s mind from the obligation to \u201cunderstand\u201d or \u201cdecipher\u201d the art, returning it to a pure, intuitive experience. <\/p>\n
The works presented in the exhibition function as a cohesive architectural ensemble that explores the boundary between reality and optical illusion. Viewed from the front, the pure monochromatic volumes create the illusion of deep architectural openings, but when you take a step to the side, the illusion dissipates, revealing the physical mass of the works. This dramatic effect unfolds through sharp contrasts in materials\u2014from \u201cwhite-on-white\u201d matte objects to glossy dark volumes, sequences of vertical modules, vibrating op-art patterns, the hidden glow of neon, and the light-absorbing circle of nighttime darkness. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Silence of Form\u201d is an exhibition that is inaccessible to those in a hurry. It requires physical movement through the space and a mental slowing down in order to notice the microscopic refractions of light and the rhythms of fading shadows, within which the true experience of the exhibition lies hidden. <\/p>\n
At the opening, the exhibition will be introduced by Dr. Aldis Gedutis, a professor of philosophy at Klaip\u0117da University (KU).<\/p>\n
