On September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the central plaza of the Klaip\u0117da Sculpture Park\u2014Agota Zdanavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 and Kristijonas Lu\u010dinskas will perform the program \u201c\u016aKAS.\u201d The concert will last one hour. <\/div>\n
Fall brings a mist to the meadows and forests, city parks, and courtyards. It\u2019s not cold yet, but the air already carries the quiet promise of nature\u2019s transformation. Surrounded by the shimmering foliage, art, and memories of the Sculpture Park, we\u2019ll hear the duet of Agota Zdanavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 and Kristijonas Lu\u010dinskas for the second time. <\/div>\n
\u201c\u016akas\u201d is an instrumental sonic journey featuring traditional Lithuanian instruments and contemporary electronic music. The kankl\u0117s, birbyn\u0117, skudu\u010diai, and percussion intertwine with electronic layers, and the music glides between a light ambient sound, improvisation, and Lithuanian archaic elements. <\/div>\n
The artists\u2019 creative collaboration began in Klaip\u0117da in the summer of 2024, when K. Lu\u010dinskas was recording A. Zdanavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117\u2019s solo album *Gyva \u010dia*. This collaboration evolved into joint concerts and, later, into the idea of creating instrumental music. Both artists felt the need to step away from lyrics and focus on sound\u2014uncluttered, clear, and understated. <\/div>\n
At first, each person created musical sketches on their own; later, they combined them into a single composition in which one sound flows naturally into the next, without abrupt breaks or clear boundaries.<\/div>\n
During the creative process, a sense of light mist, fog, and subtle darkness\u2014characteristic of both musicians\u2019 work\u2014naturally emerged; this gave rise to a harmony of light and shadow that became the essential mood of \u201c\u016ako.\u201d This idea is close to the natural concept of mist\u2014when layers of pale moisture gradually fill the space, soften its contours, and transform the perspective into a watercolor horizon. <\/div>\n
In the piece \u201c\u016akas,\u201d electronics function as a translucent layer that envelops and extends the acoustic sound, complementing the overall soundscape. A. Zdanavi\u010di\u016bt\u0117\u2019s voice is heard in only one composition\u2014\u201cLaukinis\u201d\u2014where it functions more as a textural element than as a vocal line. <\/div>\n
One of the creators\u2019 fundamental goals was to avoid superficial ornamentation, so that the music would not sound merely aesthetically appealing, but would also touch upon the deeper, more emotionally rich layers of spiritual experience. It is precisely this tension between beauty and imperfection, between clarity and roughness, that sustains the vitality of the music created and performed by the duo. <\/div>\n
\u201c\u016akas\u201d is a space where the listener can immerse themselves in personal states of mind, find focus, and linger in the embrace of the slowing pace of autumn.<\/div>\n
The concert is free.
