Carnival masks and processions are a perfect mirror of historical times and values.<\/p>\n

The organisers of the project, the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor and the organisation \u201cKlaip\u0117dos \u0161vent\u0117s\u201d, invite you to travel back in time for three days of the Sea Festival.<\/p>\n

The Klaip\u0117da Castle Conference Hall will host three projects:<\/p>\n

The film “Time Machine to the Carnivals of the Sea Festival” (duration 20 min.). The film is directed by Sondra Simana and edited by Edmundas Lukminas.<\/p>\n

The film uses photographs from the archives of Albinas Stubra, Algimantas Kalvaitis, Sofija Kanaverskyt\u0117 and the History Museum of Lithuania Minor.<\/p>\n

The light and sound installation “The Sea in a Time Capsule” by Sonata and Henrikas \u017di\u017ei\u017eius will evoke historical moments.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “Karnaval\u0173 Mo\u010dia. Behind the scenes of the work of artist Sofija Kanaverskyt\u0117”. The author of the exhibition Agn\u0117 Kanaverskyt\u0117.<\/p>\n

Darius and S. Gir\u0117nas across the Atlantic. To immerse ourselves in the loneliness and euphoria, the pain and joy, the anxiety and the hope that the Atlantic Ocean will be crossed from mainland Europe to mainland North America and that Miami will be reached victoriously. These are the only thoughts that have been running through Aurim’s mind for several years, and he is setting sail on the open ocean after more than two years of intense preparation for this historic and record-breaking journey.<\/p>\n

    A spectacular show of dancing fountains, lights and music “Lithuania to the Sea!”. An exclusive 90th anniversary fountain show – a colourful retrospective of the life of the Sea Festival. It is a special creation of water, lights, fire, music and human dance created especially for the anniversary of the Sea Festival. The history of the festival, the dialectic of our memories, experiences and interpretations are revealed through music, water and human choreography, and dialectal testimonies of the inhabitants of different regions of Lithuania, which echo the motto of the first and the current celebrations: ‘To the Sea, all of Lithuania!’.<\/p>\n

    The fountain show reflects the four eras of Lithuania, Klaip\u0117da and the Sea Festival – the interwar period, the Soviet era, the revival and independence. One of the most memorable highlights of the fountain show will be the dance compositions of the world vice-champion dance studio “Au\u0161rin\u0117” and an impressive 20-metre high lighthouse.<\/p>\n
