We invite you to dress up in national attire and celebrate Lithuanian Independence Day with a group of like-minded people. This event is expected to bring together a large group of local participants along with guests from other countries who have come to celebrate and experience parkrun in Lithuania. It will be an opportunity to meet, share the festive mood, and participate in positive and engaging activities, regardless of age, experience, or physical fitness.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>A free, friendly way to celebrate: walk, jog, run, volunteer<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>parkrun is always free and open to everyone, and the 11 March events offer a special opportunity to celebrate in a simple but meaningful way: moving together outdoors, meeting new people, and recognising the volunteers who make each event possible. There is no time limit, and nobody finishes last, thanks to the volunteer tailwalker\u2014so whether it\u2019s your first ever 5k or your 500th, you\u2019ll be welcome.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>parkrun\u2019s story in Lithuania (and beyond)<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The first parkrun event in Lithuania started in 2024, and the Lithuanian parkrun community continues to grow. In just over one year, parkrun has already organized 110 weekly events, with more than 7000 participants crossing the 5 km finish line in three locations, with new events in other towns planned to open in 2026 and beyond. Additionally, more than 2000 international participants have attended parkruns in Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>parkrun Vingis<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0(Vilnius), <strong><b>parkrun Dan\u0117s dvira\u010di\u0173 takas<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0(Klaip\u0117da) and <strong><b>parkrun Kult\u016bros ir Poilsio Parkas<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0(Panev\u0117\u017eys) each publish up-to-date statistics on their webpages, reflecting the unique story and momentum of each local community.<\/p>\n<p>Worldwide, parkrun is a global community of 12 million registered individuals, taking part in more than 2800 free, weekly events in 22 countries. parkrun events are supported by a nonprofit organization created in 2004 in London, promoting healthy, happy, active outdoors lifestyles for everyone.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>How to take part<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Taking part is simple: parkrun is free; participants should <strong><b>register once<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0and bring a scannable personal barcode (printed or on a phone) so their result can be recorded.
