The opening of the exhibition «Rosinis» by Volunge Au\u0161ra Gri\u0161konyt\u0117 Au\u0161ra Gri\u0161konyt\u0117 will take place at the Klaip\u0117da Gallery of the Klaip\u0117da Branch of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union (Ba\u017eny\u010di\u0173 g. 6) on Thursday, 30 January, at 6 pm. During the evening, the author, together with the curator of the exhibition Danguole Ru\u0161kien\u0117, will present photographs taken between 1999 and 2024, featuring LGBTQAI+ people living in Lithuania. The photographer strongly opposes discrimination and highlights the threat to human freedom. This topic is particularly relevant today, when the Istanbul Convention, the Law on Partnership, the Law on the Protection of Minors against the Negative Effects of Public Information, etc. are being fiercely debated. The artist speaks about the still prevailing tendency to limit human choices, hatred, discrimination and the particularly painful problem of suicide and self-harm, not only among adults, but also among children and teenagers. Social attacks, intolerance and condemnation from the close environment or even from the family often lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, which a person chooses to end by withdrawing from life. It is clear that a part of our society still does not have Human Rights, is unable to exercise them and feels insecure.
