Das Staatliche Musiktheater Klaipėda ist das größte professionelle Kunstensemble nicht nur in Klaipėda, sondern in der gesamten Region Westlitauens und wurde am 1. Januar 1987 nach der Umstrukturierung der Volksoper Klaipėda in ein Musiktheater gegründet. Im Jahr 2024 wurde das Theater nach der Rekonstruktion wieder eröffnet.

Das Theater beschäftigt mehr als 200 Mitarbeiter: Solisten, Chorsänger, Balletttruppe, Musiker des Sinfonieorchesters, Verwaltungs- und Servicepersonal. Theaterdirektorin – Laima Vilimienė, Musikdirektorin und Leiterin des Theaters. Dirigent – Tomas Ambrozaitis, Chorleiter – Vladimir Konstantinov, Choreograph – Aurelijus Liškauskas und die künstlerische Leiterin des Balletts Jelena Lebedeva.
