It is located in the central part of the city, next to the source of the River Dane into the Curonian Lagoon. Here you can visit the Smiltyne Yacht Club by bike or on foot, go to Smiltyne beaches, the southern pier, the Lithuanian Maritime Museum and Dolphinarium, and the Curonian Spit National Park settlements of Nida, Juodkrante, Prieila or Pervalka. The ferries at the old ferry terminal carry people, bicycles and pets (no motor vehicles). Ferries run every hour in the cold season and every half hour in the warm season. There are special ferries from the old ferry terminal that can take you directly to the Lithuanian Maritime Museum and the Dolphinarium.
