On August 8 at 12:00 p.m., a sports festival featuring aikido, kendo, karate, jiu-jitsu, MMA, and other Eastern martial arts will take place at Lietuvininkų Square, near the M. Mažvydas monument.
The event will focus on Japanese culture, so you’ll have the opportunity to taste Japanese tea, see Japanese clothing, listen to Japanese music, and—most importantly—watch martial arts demonstrations.
Our Lithuanian culture is similar to that of Japan because, like Japan, we are a small country surrounded by large neighbors, which is why both the Japanese and we are reserved, combative, determined, and brave—perhaps that is why there are so many practitioners of Eastern martial arts in Klaipėda. During this event, we will strive to bring together different disciplines and showcase ourselves to city residents and visitors.
The event is intended for adults, children, and seniors alike.
