The children’s play Ronja the Robber’s Daughter tells the story of a girl growing up in a castle in the woods surrounded by robbers. Ronja is the only child of the robber leader Matisse, and her father hopes that his daughter will grow up to lead his gang.
But one day, a new group of headhunters settles on the other side of the mountain, and a fight breaks out. Ronja grows up surrounded only by adults, so when one day she meets Birk – the son of the leader of the enemy gang – Ronja just can’t help but get to know her peer. They become friends. Where will this secret friendship lead? And how will it affect the relationship between the two warring gangs and their leaders?
