Dance performance “Stabat Mater/Saint Spring”

2025-01-10 - 2025-01-10

Time

18:30

Location

Klaipėda State Musical Theatre
Taikos Ave. 70, Klaipėda

In Stabat Mater, choreographer Edward Clug – one of Europe’s most prominent contemporary dance artists and the director of the Mariboro Ballet Company at the National Theatre of Slovenia – engages in a sensitive, yet somewhat ironic dialogue with the masterpiece of Italian Baroque master Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736). The dance performance was commissioned and staged at Munich’s State Theatre Gärtnerplatz in 2013, has undergone several rebuilds, and in the summer of 2021 was presented at the first Klaipėda Festival with the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre Ballet Company.
