Kulunka Theatre performance “Forever”

Time

18:30 - 20:15

Location

Klaipėda Drama Theatre
Teatro str. 2
After André & Dorine and Solitudes, Kulunka has again chosen the silent language of masks, this time creating a performance that combines tenderness with harsh reality.
“Forever is the story of a family that moves further and further away from the life of their dreams. With humour and irony, the play reveals the contradictions of love and explores themes of parenthood, child-rearing, disability, overprotection, sexuality and violence. As the action unfolds on a revolving platform, using an intense cinematic language, Forever becomes a carousel – a circle of life’s overview. But it is also a spiral, which with each turn digs deeper into the characters’ pain. How deeply can a whole family be scraped by the absence of connection?
What is perhaps most disturbing (and at the same time most disturbing) about this performance is that this story can easily become a reflection of our own lives.
It is produced in collaboration with the Spanish National Drama Centre, the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao and the Victoria Eugenia Theatre in San Sebastián.
