We invite you to the opening of the exhibition “You’ll Know a Friend in Freedom: Denmark and Lithuania After 1990.”

They say you know who your friends are in times of trouble. This exhibition shows that freedom is the best way to build strong bonds—it is a story about people who believed in a Lithuania that had regained its independence.

As they took their first steps toward freedom, Lithuania and the other Baltic states received comprehensive support from democratic nations. One of them was Denmark. This exhibition tells the story of how Denmark became one of Lithuania’s closest supporters after 1990—from telegrams of support to joint projects in culture, education, and security.

An exhibition dedicated to the development of relations between Denmark and Lithuania since 1990 highlights the cooperation, political support, and cultural ties between the two countries during the period following the restoration of independence.
