Photography exhibition “Talking Water”

2025-03-11 - 2025-03-11

Time

14:00
Water is a symbol of birth, rebirth, life and energy. It is the birthplace of man, the birthplace of life, and the source of life’s existence, purification and growth. Water is not only a symbol of life, but it is also a symbol of the sacred: we baptize with water, thus giving the baptized a new spiritual being.
Water, as a symbol of rebirth, plays a particularly significant role in the exhibition of portraits of ARTYN theatre members (photographs by Eglė Sabaliauskaitė, theatre founder and director Marta Vendland) – here, the members of the theatre seem to be drowned in the water, the moment is captured and it holds the whole story of this person “(re)born in theatre”. In connection with the celebration of the Restoration of Lithuanian Independence, which is also the (re)birth of our State, we invite everyone to this exhibition, where the water of the Klaipėda swimming pool will speak with the stories of the ARTYN theatre members, which tell the story of their (re)birth in the theatre, which is infinitely linked to the rebirth of our State.
“Talking Water is an exhibition of 15 photographic portraits, where each portrait will speak in the voice of a human being who will tell extraordinary, but at the same time close to everyone’s heart, stories about the rebirth of theatre, and with it – life.
During the exhibition Talking Water, we will listen to these stories, enjoy the work of photographer Eglė Sabaliauskaitė, sing the Lithuanian national anthem, and, having been revived, we will go on to create the history of our city and our state.
