Dance performance-historical excursion CHECKMATE PRUSSIA. LUISE IN MOMENTUM Klaipėda’s places where 200 years ago Queen Louise and the Prussian royal court walked while fleeing Berlin from Napoleon’s army.
With the historical-playing text in the headphones, the modern deconstructed music of the time, the sounds of the city, and the accompaniment of five dancers embodying the queen, the viewer feels like a hero in a historical film, where the pulse of modern Klaipėda and the vibrancy of the old Mémel merge.
The spectator becomes a witness to her surroundings by hearing extracts from the letters and diaries of the Queen and the courtiers, while Louise’s favourite cello music and the laconic movement in the urban spaces create a magical experience.
