St. Christopher’s OrchestraArtistic Director and Conductor Modestas Barkauskas Soloist Lina Dambrauskaitė

The St.Christopher Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Modestas Barkauskas, pays a nice tribute to the contemporary trend of an increasing number of female composers. The concert programme consists of works by four US composers, written by two prominent women musicians – Jessie Montgomery (b. 1981) and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw (b. 1982) – and two male composers, Osvaldo Golijov (b. 1960), an Argentinean of Jewish origin living in the USA, and Christopher Cerrone (b. 1984), the winner of the Prix de la composition de Rome. The orchestra will be accompanied by the soloist Lina Dambrauskaitė, who is always a welcome soloist in both Lithuanian and foreign opera theatres and concert venues. Jessie Montgomery – Strum for Strings
Osvald Golijov – Three Songs for Soprano and Orchestra
Caroline Shaw – Entr’acte for Strings; And So
Christopher Cerrone – Concerto for Strings “High Windows”
