Independence – from the lips of people born in independent Lithuania. This idea will be presented at this year’s 11 March commemoration event by the Lithuanian Armed Forces Naval Band and soloists Morta Bačkutė, Austėja Kazlauskaitė, Andrėja and Salomėja Kontautaitės, and Paulina Šatkauskaitė, pupils of the Klaipėda Conservatoire of Stasys Šimkus, who were taught by teachers of the Conservatoire of Stasys Šimkus, Aušra Smičiūtė-Butkeviciene and Livija Trakumienė.
“On this important occasion for Lithuania, especially at a time when everything seems so fragile, we would like to present the city of Klaipėda and its residents with a colourful programme full of sincerity and hope. A collective of professional musicians together with the bright singers of the younger generation, participants and winners of many competitions, projects, will perform a mosaic of songs and other works for brass band, born after the restoration of independence”.
