PROGRAM OF EVENTS FOR JULY 6TH:
10:00 AM LITHUANIAN HISTORICAL FLAG CHANGING CEREMONY | In Mažvydas Avenue.
12:00 PM NATIONAL FLAG RAISING CEREMONY | On Jonas Hill Island.
The Lithuanian national flag will be ceremoniously raised, brought by participants of the Klaipėda Water Sports Festival and handed over to members of the Western (Sea) Riflemen’s 3rd Battalion of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union. The flag will be raised by members of the Žemaitija Region 3rd Battalion of the National Defense Volunteer Forces.
Every year, the Fishermen’s Palace in Klaipėda initiates the symbolic campaign “Our Mindaugas.” Every Mindaugas (who has this name) who comes to Jonas Hill Island will receive a symbolic gift.
After the flag-raising ceremony, the Lithuanian Navy Band (conductor Egidijus Miknius) and Edita Bodrovaitė will perform a musical program.
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM Lecture “RENAISSANCE IN KLAIPĖDA?” (presented by historian Dr. Dainius Elertas) and tour “SEARCHING FOR RENAISSANCE IN THE CASTLE MUSEUM EXHIBITION” | At the Castle Museum (Priešpilio St. 2).
7:30 PM – 10:00 PM Festive Concert “WE ARE HERE AND WE ARE NOW” | In the Theater Square.
The final musical chord of State Day will be performed. One of the most authentic performers on the Lithuanian pop music scene, Evgenya Redko, will sing, and finalists of the TV project “The Voice of Lithuania: Generations” – Emilija and Rugilė, “T3”, “Voiceless,” and Kristina Jure will perform.
8:30 PM FESTIVE SAILING ON THE FERRY “NIDA” TO THE PORT GATES | From the Old Ferry Terminal.
9:00 PM NATIONAL ANTHEM AROUND THE WORLD | Singing locations: Theater Square, ferry “Nida”, museum ship M52 “Sūduvis”, northern pier in Melnragė.
