Sea Festival

Sea Festival is the annual and most popular summer festival of Klaipėda city, traditionally taking place on the last weekend of July. It is a highly regarded event in the Klaipėda city and is therefore called the ‘second (or summer) Christmas’ by the locals. Each year, the event attracts thousands of city guests and sea fans who truly love the port city and its vibes. The Sea Festival dates back to 1934, when it was designed to promote the region of the seashore and maritime traditions, and the majority of the events remain focused on the theme of the sea to this day. During the festival, the city hosts a variety of cultural, sporting and entertainment events: concerts, shows and performances, and the sailing-ships exhibited in the port welcome visitors on their decks.
