On the Saturday of the Sea Festival, curious people and lovers of excitement are invited to the dragon boat race for the Klaipėda State Seaport Authority Cup, which has become a beautiful tradition and an integral part of the Sea Festival. The dragon boat race, which attracts a large number of spectators every year, is taking place for the 15th time this year.
44 teams will compete for the Port Authority Cup.In the Dragon Boat Race, each team demonstrates its endurance and strength by covering a distance of 500 metres in the Danube River, from the Rowing Centre to the Biržos Bridge.
Scene: the Dane Square – on the other side of the sailing ship Meridian. In the dragon boat race for the Klaipėda Port Authority Cup, teams must have 8 rowers, 1 coxswain at the back of the boat and 1 drummer at the front. Professional rowers are not allowed to take part in the race.
