Is it possible to view the stage from an (almost) bird’s-eye view? Can your knees buckle while walking through a theater? Is it possible to find an incredible concentration of high-tech and engineering marvels within a sanctuary of the arts? We invite you to join an exclusive educational tour, “Roofs and Basements—The Theater’s Most Hidden Places,” at the Klaipėda Drama Theater and see this place with completely new eyes.
Tour participants will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the technical wonders of the most modern theater in the Baltic states, venture into its basements, and rise above its stages. On this tour, the theater’s present intersects closely with its incredible history, spanning several hundred years—deep deep, right at the very heart of the theater, you’ll find fragments of the theater building preserved during renovations that date back to the city’s German era.
Strict safety requirements must be followed during the tour, and it is important to wear comfortable clothing. This tour is not suitable for people with mobility or visual impairments, or for those with severe acrophobia.
