On the evening of August 21, Andrius Mamontovas and his band return to the Klaipėda Castle Ruins—one of the most beautiful summer concert venues in Lithuania. Summer concerts at the Klaipėda Castle Ruins have a completely different feel. The water, the Old Town, the evening air, and the music under the open sky create a special atmosphere here. Andrius Mamontovas’ concert at this venue promises an evening filled with energy, nostalgia, and that summery lightness that makes certain concerts linger in one’s memory for a very long time.
Klaipėda will host “Best Songs: Part I”—a program featuring the best songs by Andrius Mamontovas, written during various periods of his career. These are songs that many know by heart and that have long been cherished by several generations of listeners. The evening’s program includes songs such as “Yellow. Green. Red,” “City of Dreams,” “Your Dream,” “Sailor’s Song,” “City of the Sun,” and many other famous hits. Joining Andrius Mamontovas on stage will be an international group of young musicians, including Andrius Mamontovas’s son, Andrius, on drums. The live sound of this ensemble infuses these nostalgic songs with new energy and verve.
The first stop on this concert tour in Klaipėda will kick off a three-city tour on the penultimate weekend of August. Klaipėda, Druskininkai, and Kaunas are the only places where Andrius Mamontovas will perform with his band this summer. Three evenings, three unique venues, and one story. On this concert tour, alternative pop artist Laura Kešytė-Mexeny will open for Andrius Mamontovas and his band.
The concert will take place outdoors, and since the Lithuanian summer has a way of throwing surprises, we encourage you to bring raincoats and other items to ensure your comfort.
