Ignas Maknickas, a pianist of the younger generation, presents a programme of works by composers from different traditions of Romanticism and its continuation – Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin and Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. This repertoire forms a chronological and stylistic axis of the piano literature, allowing the diversity of interpretative directions to be revealed: from the psychological narrative of late German Romanticism to Polish piano poetry and the aesthetics of Lithuanian symbolism.

Maknickas, who usually performs internationally, is a laureate of numerous competitions, has performed with various orchestras (Aarhus Symphony, Indiana Bloomington Symphony, Lithuanian National Symphony, London Mozart Orchestra), and has given recitals in such venues as the Wigmore Hall, the Steinway Hall in London, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, the Charlottenborg Festival Hall in Copenhagen, and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
