In 2025, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikolas Konstantinas Čiurlionis is celebrated, and this concert invites you to embark on a sonic journey in the footsteps of the genius creator. ” After Čiurlionis is a unique concert presenting this year’s CD album After Čiurlionis, in which pianist Dmitri Golovanov and saxophonist Jan Maksimovič combine classical piano music with contemporary jazz improvisation. In the concert, Čiurlionis’ preludes sound like living improvisational landscapes, conveying the fragility and grandeur of Čiurlionis’ music while preserving the uniqueness of the composer’s musical harmonies. According to the performers, this project is not just a stylistic transformation – it is a dialogue of epochs, cultures and aesthetics, and the music of Čiurlionis is an inspiration for a new sound world being created right here on stage.
