Programme.
For this evening of chamber music, performers have come together from all over the world – from Lithuania, Belgium and Germany in Europe to the far country of the Sun – Japan. The programme focuses on two opuses that belong to the golden fund of chamber music: Gioachino Rossini’s early Sonata for String Quartet (composed when the composer was only twelve years old!) and one of the most famous ensemble works of the Romantic period – Franz Schubert’s so-called Trout Quintet, popular for its charming melody and its sophisticated variations in the fourth
Part. In the latter work, Schubert has also masterfully integrated a string instrument of the richest timbre, the double bass, whose playing is not inferior to that of the other members of the ensemble.
