The musical shadow theatre performance “The Cat and the Rooster” invites the youngest listeners and their families to a lively fairy-tale world of friendship, wisdom and the victory of kindness over deceit. The characters of the Lithuanian folk tale come to life on stage through shadow magic, colourful projections and live music.

The work of composer Teisutis Makačinas will create a playful and sensual soundtrack, intertwining rhythm, humour and the drama of a fairy tale. The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will subtly embody the moods of the fairy tale – from the joyful games of Katinėlis and Gaidelis to the tension-filled moments. And the director and artist Gintarė Radvilavičiūtė will create a visually rich world of shadows, allowing children to experience the wonder of theatre up close: live paintings, unexpected characters, dialogue between light and music.
