Contemporary music festival “Permainų muzika” invites you to listen to how the authentic Klaipėda region could sound. This concert is a respectful reverence to the city of our birth, opening up the undiscovered sounds of Klaipėda. The concert focuses on works by local composers, rarely heard in the public space, based on echoes of Curonian and Samogitian melodies. The new works, premieres for brass quintet and choir in the programme are like a sound map where the city’s history, seaside landscapes and people’s destinies intertwine, while the sound of the Klaipėda Brass Quintet and the voices of the Aukuras Choir create an unusual sound experience, from themes inspired by folklore to contemporary forms of musical expression.
