𝐀𝐩𝐢𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐚̨

In the paintings of the painter Gintas Banis, presented in the exhibition “Scattered”, the viewer will have the opportunity to see the artist’s artistic explorations of the last few years.

In his vivid works, which belong to the Pop Art and Surrealism genre, the artist raises existential questions, looking for a meaningful relationship with the environment and asking – “𝑲𝒂𝒊𝒑 𝒏𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒌𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒊 𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒖𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒚𝒌𝒊𝒖𝒐𝒔𝒆, 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒍𝒗𝒖̨ 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒐𝒔𝒆, 𝒌𝒌𝒂𝒊𝒑 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒕𝒊 𝒕𝒆𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂̨ 𝒌𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂̨ 𝒊𝒓 𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒊 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒋𝒂̨ 𝒔𝒖 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒎𝒊?”

According to the artist G. Banis, every event, emotion or object depicted on the canvas has its own colour and creates a mood, which is just a flash in the universe of time.

The exhibits of the exhibition reveal the characteristic painting style of G. Banis, which combines reality and fantasy, the realistic and the dreamlike. The painted objects are placed in unusual contexts, thus creating multi-sensory, symbolic plots that speak to the viewer’s subconscious.

In his works of the fantastic genre, the artist incorporates attributes of the contemporary world – from fashion accessories and mass advertising signs to representational portraits of famous people and symbols of contemporary culture.

𝐀𝐩𝐢𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐮̨

𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐬 (𝐠. 𝟏𝟗𝟒) is the founder, the leader, the lyrics and lyricist, and the painter of the well-known music group “Pelenai”.

The artist uses mixed painting techniques and likes to experiment. His works belong to private collections in Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland and the United States.
