Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra vinyl record launch event “Johann Daniel Berlin returns to Klaipėda”

On 4 November, in the Stained Glass Art Hall of Klaipėda University, we will present a long-gestating musical project – the vinyl record “Johann Daniel Berlin returns to Klaipėda” by Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra.

The vinyl record captures the works of the 18th-century composer Johann Daniel Berlin (1714-1787), a native of Klaipeda. This is the first commemoration of his music in Lithuania – a symbolic return of the composer to his hometown after almost three centuries.

J.D. Berlin was the first known composer born in Klaipėda, who studied in Copenhagen and worked in Trondheim. An architect, composer, and author of instrumentology textbooks, he is an artist whose legacy Norway is proud of today.
