Music, sports activities and education will be waiting for everyone in Klaipėda Castle Square when the Lighthouse Rally crews start early in the morning.

PROGRAMME

12.00, 13.00 Free thematic excursion “Klaipėda Lighthouses Stories”. The life of Klaipėda is inseparable from the sea, ships and, of course, lighthouses, of which there have been more than one. During your walk through the museum, you will hear serious, romantic and funny lighthouse stories. What did the first Klaipėda lighthouse look like? What royal person enjoyed walking by the Klaipėda Lighthouse? Which lighthouse was the favourite of Klaipėda residents? Stories make history, so we invite you to hear them. 12.00-19.00 Educational road safety events. Try out demonstrations on rollover, crash and seat belt performance. Visitors will be able to experience for themselves the importance of seat belts when a car rolls over or hits an obstacle (Klaipėda Castle Grounds, 2 Prevpilio Street);

12.00-14.00 Sniper competition with Klaipėda Basketball School. Try your hand and win great prizes!

14.30-17.00 Building the sea and lighthouses with LEGO bricks. At this event, there are two creative and fun Bricks4kidz stations where you can immerse yourself in discovery:
– LEGO Creative Station – children will build a variety of models with patented LEGO sets to develop their imagination, fine motor skills and experience the joy of creativity together.
– Motorised models with programming – young creators will try out motorised LEGO models that they will control with their tablets. This activity will introduce the basics of programming, technology and how ideas are transformed into moving creations.

14.00-16.00 Visit to the deck of the legendary yacht “Lietuva”. Klaipėda Celebrations together with the sports club Ostmarina invites Klaipėda residents and guests to visit the legendary yacht “Lietuva”. Note: Access to the Cruise Ship Terminal sauna is by appointment only. To walk on the deck, you must wear shoes without heels, not packed, preferably with light soles to avoid damaging the deck. 16.00-17.00 22 September marks the birthday of composer and painter Nicholas Constantine, and 2025 has been declared the Year of M. K. Čiurlionis, marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer and painter. The sky is adorned with reproductions of Čiurlionis’s “Rex” and “The Tale of the Castle” (Piliavietė Square)

15.00 Documentary “Lighthouses of Freedom”. This visually poetic narrative invites viewers to look at the unique Lithuanian seaside heritage – lighthouses – not only as engineering structures, but also as a living part of history, memory and everyday life of the seaside man. People are at the centre of the film. Those who have linked their lives to the lighthouses: lighthouse keepers, ship captains, scientists and members of the local community. Running time 105 min., Lithuania, 2025. Directed by Haroldas Klevinskas.
