On Friday, September 4, at 5:30 p.m., Linas Kaziulionis’s exhibition “Evidence” will open at the Klaipėda Culture and Communication Center (KKKC) Exhibition Hall, located at 2 Didžioji Vandens St., will host the opening of Linas Kaziulionis’s exhibition “Evidence,” which presents the artist’s works from different periods and creative cycles. These works are united by Kaziulionis’s characteristic interest in the human relationship with information, the narratives it creates, and our ability to distinguish reality from fiction. The exhibition will run through September 27.
The excess of information we receive every day can not only inform us, but also mislead us, overwhelm us, or shape our beliefs. This tension is also reflected in L. Kaziulionis’s paintings themselves. Visual appeal becomes not only an aesthetic choice but also a way of speaking about attention—how it is captured, directed, and how it can shape our relationship with reality.
The artist does not seek to present definitive conclusions or reveal a single, specific “truth.” Using symbolism, mysticism, irony, and ambiguities, he deliberately blurs the line between reality and fiction, leaving room for the viewer’s personal interpretations.
The exhibition becomes a kind of experiment that explores not only what information we receive, but also why we tend to believe it. It invites us to take a closer look at the images and narratives around us and to reflect on how much of our perception of reality is based on facts, and how much on interpretations, emotions, and stories constructed by others.
Linas Kaziulionis (b. 1993) – painter and street artist, master’s student at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA), winner of the 2022 prize for the best young painter in the Baltic states. He is actively engaged in canvas painting and is recognized for his distinctive, vibrant painting style, excellent command of color, and insightful themes, including large-scale murals.
