PORTALS
The exhibition “Portals ’26” presents the final projects of the bachelor’s program in stage design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, reflecting different interpretations of stage design and theatrical costume. Each project reveals the artist’s individual approach to creating stage space and visual storytelling.
Drawing on literary works, the artists created original set design concepts, explored the relationship between space, form, and materiality, and sought their own distinctive artistic language. The resulting works invite the viewer not only to become familiar with the process of set design but also to interpret the visual worlds presented in their own way.
The exhibition features set designs, costume sketches, and installation projects that reveal the students’ artistic visions and their interpretations of selected literary works. Each exhibit is like a portal that transports the viewer into a different story.
