On 8 December, two close colleagues and fellow students – violinist Raimondas Butvila and world-renowned pianist Alexander Paley – will meet on stage.
Paley is an internationally acclaimed pianist whose career began after winning prestigious competitions in Leipzig, Austria and Bulgaria. A regular performer in Europe, North and South America, and leading festivals in France and the USA, Paley is renowned for his impressive repertoire of more than 50 piano concertos with orchestra and hundreds of chamber music works.
R. Butvila is a laureate of international competitions, whose musical journey stretches from Lithuania to Venezuela, where he worked as a music director and professor in Caracas. Today he teaches at the Academy of Music of VMU and actively performs as a soloist and chamber musician.
The performers have prepared a particularly sensitive and aesthetically balanced programme of sonatas for violin and piano by F. Schubert and L. van Beethoven.
It is an evening of delicate chamber music, deep dialogues of musical friendship and the light of the beginning of winter.
